I know I'm funnier than... Jay Mohr

I have to admit that you'd think I have had enough torture watching Dat Phan win last year's season of Last Comic Standing but I'm back again for this summer's comic slugfest. In their attempt to top last year's reality show, the show this year is more about the show itself than the comics who are competing. The most obvious example of this is Jay Mohr's fifteen minutes of fame each show where he gets to do parts of his extremely unfunny standup routine. (By the way, if you're reading this and you have a site, how about linking to Jay's site with the words extremely unfunny also so Google will take notice!)

But the "reality" part doesn't stop when the show ends. It's all over the place outside of the one hour on Tuesday nights too. Two of the celebrity judges freaked out about their votes being less than they expected, NBC propped up one of their own production assistants to be a "William Hung-type" character, and several of the comics that made it to the final ten have ties to the executive producers of the show. This information is all over the Internet, but it's aggregated in three pages at cringehumor.net (warning - dirty words all over the place). And no, I'm not the "Patrick" at the bottom of the page. :-)

The first two comics out of the house this year are pretty deserving, although I think Todd Glass would be a fun guy to hang around with.
