This seems odd at first, but the article A Brief Introduction to GPS Photo Linking advocates storing GPS data with your digital photos. That way you know not only when you took the photo, but where you were, allowing you to geographically group your photos into say, "all the photos I took while I was in California." Just another automatic set of information that helps you organize things. Of course, there's no simple way to do it yet, but the concept is pretty neat. (link courtesy Giles)
