my new favorite travel site

If you haven't checked out site59.com yet, you need to. This site offers last minute travel packages: Air + Hotel, Air + Car and Hotel + Car. The deal is, the combo is often hundreds less than purchasing the pieces separately. For instance:

• Nashville to Dayton:
  7/3 - 7/5 Flight + Hotel, $195 per person
• Nashville to Dayton:
  7/3 - 7/5 Flight alone on Orbitz, $376 per person
• Columbia, SC to Des Moines, IA:
  7/3 - 7/5 Flight + Hotel, $313 per person
• Columbia, SC to Des Moines, IA:
  7/3 - 7/5 Flight alone on Orbitz, $746 per person
• Charlotte, NC to Portland, OR:
  7/3 - 7/5 Flight + Hotel, $398 per person

We have friends who told us that they bought the Flight+Hotel package and then just never checked into the hotel. Of course, you have to be flying over a weekend, and it has to be within the next couple of weeks. We've found that the best prices are generally about one week out... but then again, it's kind of a dice toss, because they might run out of space. We're thinking about celebrating our anniversary this year Site59 style... just picking some place to go at the beginning of the week and going!
