better than Tivo?

The folks at Voom are preparing a "client-server" system for High Definition DVR delivery. There's a video at this link (Windows Media format) that shows some of the capabilities. Essentially, it's a dual-tuner receiver with "thin client" boxes on just about as many TVs as you want. Plus, you can add extra "servers" to expand your capacity intelligently... giving all clients (and the servers) one big "pool" of recordings that any or all of them can draw on. You can even start watching a program on one box, pause it, and then go "pick it up" on another one, not missing a frame!
