classic Atari

Nintendo has already figured out that they can charge twenty bucks a pop for their first generation games. Atari is being more generous though... maybe because their games only weigh in with 2 to 4K of code each!

The Atari Anthology has been released for various consoles and computers, but this new collection is pretty exhaustive and combines both arcade and 2600 titles. It will be interesting to play old-school games with new-school controllers.

An even potentially cooler machine is the Atari Flashback, a shrunken hybrid of the Atari 7800 with built in games. The bummer - the controllers aren't compatible with original equipment and there's no cartridge slot for us folks who have amassed a collection. Oh well, maybe in the Atari Flashback II.
