serge!

Ever since the last class I took at The Children's Corner, I have been wanting a serger. For those non-seamtresses out there a serger "trims the seam and encloses the seam allowance inside a thread casing, all in one step." It is a time-saving device that makes seams stronger and keeps them from raveling. After watching on ebay for a few weeks, I found a factory-reconditioned Brother 1034D for an unbelievably great price. It is easy to thread and worked flawlessly right out of the box. It is very addictive and therapeutic. I have been serging raw edges of fabric pieces that I have around and am ready to move on to a bigger project.

Congrats! Now, is this the one you were looking at before or is it in addition to? I confess you have way outpaced any sewing knowledge I have.
