It's never as easy as you think, is it? Sunday night, we stopped by target and saw that they had just put out a new line of furniture that is a) very matchy-matchy to our existing dining room table and b) not expensive at all. After sleeping on it, we decided to head back Monday night and pick up some chairs.
In the furniture section, they had a display, but nothing to carry out. Next to the display, there was a hook that had a bunch of cards hanging on it that showed the furniture with a note that said something to the effect of, "ask any team member... and we'll get them for you." I made the assumption that you probably would: if there's a card hanging on the hook, there's a matching box in the back that has two chairs in it. Not so.
After about 30 minutes of two-way radio ("Go for Ralph") and a trip up to the customer service desk, we found out that they only had two chairs. The manager was nice enough to give us a rain check so that we could take advantage of our 10% discount for opening a Target card when we come back to get the rest.
Tuesday night after I got home from work, I started putting the chairs together... foolishly thinking that I could actually do it quickly. These things are held together with no less than sixteen screws, ten of which have an allen socket so I can't use my power screwdriver on them. It worked out to about an hour a chair.
Now I want to go back and buy more because they look so good, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life putting them together! :) Maybe I can swing by Home Depot on the way home and peruse their allen driving options.

It's a shame you couldn't hold these in your garage until Jason's next visit. It sounds like what was a chore for you would have been paradise for him.
I'm sure you can get an allen adapter and the assembly will be a piece of cake.
